FROM FACT TO FICTION
A rebranding project for the company Sega
In this project, we were asked to decide on a topic that interested us and dig into how it could make an impact on the world. We were to take that idea and translate it into design terms and into a cohesive campaign with three deliverables: posters, a brochure, and a phone application.
PROJECT CONCEPT/DESIGN GOALS
The topic I decided on was fake news. The topic has gained traction over the last few years but it has existed long before that. With such conflict and frustration on the topic, I wanted my design to be loud and immediately grab one’s interest. Therefore, my visual system used a bright and bold color scheme and dynamic visual elements.
The Fayk Noos campaign used a visual system designed to feel loud and shocking.
The posters for the campaign took headlines that were not based on facts or were took out of context to gain the viewer’s attention.
The informational brochure uses the same color scheme and expressive graphic elements.
The app provides easily accessible information on what fake news is and reputable sources to reference.
